Fertility

Relax…and Conceive!
How many of us know of someone who went through unsuccessful fertility treatments, adopted, relaxed into parenthood, then conceived naturally.   Once the emotional stress and fear of not having a child was removed, the body performed as it was programmed to.  The main variable removed was the stress.

Despite the well-known link between stress and infertility, the importance of stress management and relaxation is often underestimated. Stress contributes, at least to a certain degree, in almost all cases of primary infertility, unexplained failed IVF and unexplained miscarriages. Prolonged stress over the years can lead to the conditions that cause infertility. Stress hormones such as catecholamines (adrenalin, noradrenalin, and dopamine) and the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis interact with hormones which are responsible for normal ovulatory cycles (ie., GnRH, prolactin, LH and FSH).  Furthermore, some hormones that are released during times of stress can cause the uterus to contract and/or negatively interact with immune cells, both of which will interfere with proper implantation. . In fact, the medical tests and treatments for infertility themselves, are some of the major sources of stress for many infertile women.
Understanding a problem is the first step towards solving it.  Fortunately, through an understanding of the mechanics of the mind/body connection, in particular the body’s physical response to negative or fearful thought, the body’s reaction to stressful thought can be reframed and reprogrammed, producing an internal environment which enhances fertility.

Through relaxation, stress management, and creative visualization techniques, the physical internal environment of the body can be adjusted to optimize conception, truly empowering you as part of the process.  Once the subconscious can see the birth and child, without the self-limiting, fearful thoughts of the conscious mind interfering, the physical body relaxes, providing an optimum environment in which conception can take place.
